The Musee Languedocien occupies a grand 17th-century hotel particulier on Rue Jacques Coeur. Its collections span a wide arc -- prehistoric and protohistoric artifacts, Greek and Etruscan ceramics, Roman mosaics, Egyptian pieces, and a strong selection of Romanesque sculpture from the region's medieval abbeys. The classical ceramics collection is particularly good.
A quiet alternative to the busier Musee Fabre, it rewards an hour or two of browsing if you have an interest in the deep history of the Languedoc.
