Le Ciel de Nîmes occupies the rooftop terrace of Norman Foster's Carré d'Art and looks directly across at the Maison Carrée — the best lunch view in town. The cooking is Mediterranean and lighter than many neighbouring places: salads, fish, small plates, well-judged desserts.
Lunch on a sunny day is the obvious move; the evening menu is also available. The architectural setting is part of the meal. Reservation strongly recommended at weekends.
