The Column of the Grande Armée is a 53-metre Corinthian column north of Boulogne-sur-Mer. It was begun to commemorate Napoleon's planned invasion of England, which never happened, and later came to mark the first distribution of the Imperial Légion d'Honneur at the Boulogne camp.
The column is a worthwhile detour for Napoleonic history and for the view from the surrounding high ground.
