Dinan's medieval centre is compact and walkable. The ramparts, the castle, the hilltop basilica, and the steep lane down to the port are the main draws. Beyond the obvious sights, the town rewards slow wandering — artisan workshops occupy the half-timbered houses on Rue du Jerzual, and the Thursday market in Place du Guesclin brings the whole town to life.
