Les Halles is the wooden covered market in the centre of town — a 1920s reconstruction of an older medieval marché in half-timbered style. It dominates the small main square and now houses craft and souvenir shops rather than the food stalls it once did. The architectural detail — beams, gables, decorative carving — is the reason to stop, and the building photographs well from any angle.
A small open-air market on Thursday and Saturday mornings spills around the building with cheese, cider, charcuterie, and Normandy produce. The cluster of cafés and restaurants around the square is the practical centre of Étretat for visitors.
