Rennes is very well connected by train. TGV services from Paris Montparnasse take just 1 hour 25 minutes — one of the fastest connections to any Breton city. Direct trains also run from Nantes (1h10), Brest (2h), Caen (2h), and Lyon (5h). The gare SNCF is south of the centre, about ten minutes' walk from Place de la République.
Rennes Bretagne Airport is 8 kilometres southwest of the city, with regular bus connections. Flybe (before its collapse) was the main carrier for UK routes; check Transavia, easyJet, and Ryanair for current services from the UK and other European cities. For most European travellers, the train is faster and easier door-to-door.
