Vannes station sits on the main TGV line between Paris-Montparnasse and Quimper. Direct high-speed trains from Paris take about two and a half hours. From Rennes the journey is around an hour. The station is about 1.5 km north of the old town, an easy walk or short taxi ride.
By car, Vannes is on the N165 dual carriageway that runs along the south Breton coast, connecting it easily with Nantes to the east and Quimper to the west.
