Ten Belles is a cramped, much-loved coffee bar a block back from the canal, one of the places that brought serious specialty coffee to Paris in the early 2010s. There is barely room to sit downstairs, but a small mezzanine and a clutch of pavement seats mean you can linger over a flat white and a slice of banana bread.
It works perfectly as the start or end of a canal walk. The same team runs a larger bakery-café, Ten Belles Bread, a short distance away in the 11th.
