The main square of the old town, flanked by the Gothic town hall and its 19th-century clock tower. Pavement cafés spread across it in summer, and it doubles as the main venue for fringe performances during the Festival d'Avignon. The carousel and the plane trees give it a quintessentially Provençal character. From here, the main commercial streets fan out towards the rest of the walled city.
