Eating Out

Borjomi has a modest selection of restaurants, most serving standard Georgian food — khachapuri (cheese bread), khinkali (dumplings), grilled meats, and fresh salads. The restaurants along the main strip cater primarily to Georgian domestic tourists. Quality is generally decent and prices are low by European standards. In summer the terraces fill up; in winter many restaurants reduce their hours or close entirely.

Local trout from the mountain rivers is the regional speciality — ask for Borjomi trout wherever you eat. The water, of course, is the other local product: Borjomi mineral water is available everywhere, and drinking it here straight from a glass feels appropriate.
