Vashnari is an early Christian archaeological site near Gurianta, west of Ozurgeti. The remains include traces of a basilica, monastery buildings, and civic structures dating back to the 4th century.
The site is quiet and fragmentary, so it suits travellers who like ruins more than polished monuments. Its value is in the age of the remains and the sense of Guria's long history just outside the modern town.
