Friedrichshafen is not a nightlife city in the way that Konstanz or Stuttgart are. The evening scene centres on the promenade cafes and a handful of bars in the town centre. In summer the lakeside stays busy until late with people eating ice cream and watching the water. A few lively bars operate around the pedestrian zone; the student population of Zeppelin University adds a younger crowd. Nightlife otherwise tends to migrate to Konstanz or Ravensburg.
