Museum of Sculptures

The Museum of Sculptures is built into the hillside below Trausnitz Castle, so much of the museum sits underground. Its galleries focus on sculptors connected with Landshut, with special attention to Fritz Koenig.

Koenig is best known internationally for The Sphere, the sculpture that stood in New York's World Trade Center plaza before the September 11 attacks. The Landshut museum is a good companion to the castle above it, especially for visitors interested in modern sculpture rather than only the city's medieval side.
