The half-timbered house where Albrecht Dürer lived for the last twenty years of his life, from 1509 until his death in 1528. The four floors are furnished to recreate the workshop and living quarters of a prosperous Renaissance artist, with replica printing presses and pigment-grinding equipment. No original paintings — those are in museums — but the building itself is authentic, one of the few in the old city to survive World War II intact.
