Getting There

Nuremberg Airport (NUE) is 7 km north of the city centre and has good connections within Germany and Europe, including budget carriers to many European cities. The U-Bahn line U2 runs from the airport to the central station in about 12 minutes.

By train, Nuremberg lies on the high-speed ICE network. Munich is just over an hour away; Frankfurt about two hours; Berlin around three and a half. The Hauptbahnhof (main station) is on the southern edge of the old city, a five-minute walk from the city walls.

By road, Nuremberg sits at the intersection of several motorways (Autobahnen). Parking in the old city is difficult and expensive; leave your car at a park-and-ride and take public transport in.
