Regensburg is well connected by train, with ICE and IC services from Munich (about an hour and a half), Nuremberg (about an hour), and direct connections to Berlin, Frankfurt, and Vienna. The Hauptbahnhof is a short walk from the old town.
The nearest airport is Munich (about 85 km south). A direct bus service connects the airport to Regensburg several times daily. By car, the A3 motorway links Regensburg to Frankfurt and Vienna, and the A93 connects to Munich.
