Landsberg sits on the A96 motorway about 60 km west of Munich, an hour's drive on a good day. Regional trains from Munich Hauptbahnhof take 50 to 70 minutes via Kaufering; some are direct, some require a quick cross-platform change.
By car the town is part of any Romantic Road itinerary, between Augsburg (50 km north) and Schongau (35 km south). The bus along the Romantic Road runs in summer and stops in the Hauptplatz.
Free parking is available outside the old town walls. Don't try to drive in — the cobbled lanes are tight, one-way, and best walked.
