A genuine urban oasis on the hill that gives Kreuzberg its name — Berlin's only proper hill, at 66 metres, crowned by a Schinkel monument to the Liberation Wars of 1813–15. On a clear day the views across the city from the top are excellent. The park has a waterfall running down the slope, a small vineyard, and the Golgatha beer garden at the base, plus wide lawns for lazing or kicking a ball around. The multicultural summer festival brings live music and performances to the open-air stages.
