The Spremberger Turm (Spremberg Tower) is a medieval gate tower at the southern end of the old city centre and the most substantial surviving remnant of Cottbus's old city wall. Built in the 15th century, it served as one of the main entrances to the medieval city and was later used as a prison. The tower's thick stone walls and distinctive silhouette stand out among the surrounding post-war buildings.
The area around the tower connects to the pedestrian zone and the Altmarkt. The Münzturm (Mint Tower) to the northeast is a smaller but also well-preserved remnant from the same defensive circuit, marking what was once the money-minting operation of medieval Cottbus.
