Schlosspark Oranienburg

The Schlosspark Oranienburg stretches along the western bank of the Havel river, surrounding the palace on three sides. Originally laid out as a formal Baroque garden in the 17th century, it was transformed into an English landscape park in the 19th century, with winding paths, lawns, and views back across the water to the palace facade. The park is open daily and free to enter.

It is a pleasant place to walk before or after visiting the palace museum. The riverside promenade is especially agreeable in summer. The Rosengarten (rose garden) at the southern end of the park is the most formally maintained part, with a modest collection of roses and low hedges. From the park you can see the Louise-Henriette-Steg footbridge crossing the Havel — an easily walkable route linking the park to the other bank.
