Limburg's old town is small enough to walk in an afternoon, but it packs a remarkable density of late-medieval Fachwerk houses around the cathedral hill. Start at the Dom, drop down through the narrow lanes to the Old Lahn Bridge, and let yourself get lost between the timbered facades on Domplatz, Fischmarkt and Bischofsplatz.
