Live raptor displays beside the Niederwald Monument

Just behind the Niederwald Monument, at the edge of the forest above the Rhine, the Adlerburg falconry puts on daily flying displays with eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls. The birds swoop low over the seated audience, and handlers explain each species and its hunting behaviour between flights. Outside show times you can walk through the aviaries and see the birds up close. It is a good add-on if you are already taking the cable car up to the monument. Open daily from around 9:30 to 5:30 during the season (roughly March to November).
