Rudesheim is best visited between spring and autumn, when the vineyards are green and the outdoor wine bars are in full swing. Summer is peak season and the Drosselgasse can be very crowded.
Wine Festival (Weinfest)
Held in the third week of August, the wine festival features different wineries of the region along the main street. You can enjoy the charming views of the town and vineyards while sampling local wines and food.
Rhein in Flammen (Rhine in Flames)
One of the most exciting nights in the town, held on the first Saturday of July. Illuminated riverboats pass through the Bingen Gap, "burning castles" light up along the river, and the evening ends with a spectacular fireworks display.
Rheingau Musik Festival
An international summer music festival running since 1987, mainly featuring classical music but with other genres as well. Performances take place in culturally important venues including Schloss Johannisberg and Eberbach Abbey.
