Hameln's old town is dense with Weser Renaissance architecture and Pied Piper references. The Rattenfängerhaus and the Hochzeitshaus are the highlights, but the whole old town rewards a slow walk — the ornamented gables and carved stone facades are among the finest examples of the Weser Renaissance style. The outdoor Pied Piper play at the Hochzeitshaus runs every Sunday at noon from May through September. The surrounding Weserbergland hills offer excellent cycling and walking.
