Neubrandenburg's main draw is its medieval city wall, which you can walk along or through for most of a half-day. The four Gothic gates are the architectural highlights; the Konzertkirche and Tollensesee fill out a full day. The city rewards a slow visit — it is not a showcase German town, but it has more character than its socialist-era centre suggests.
