Schwerin punches well above its weight for a city of 100,000 people. The castle alone would justify a visit, but the cluster of grand buildings around the Alter Garten, the Gothic cathedral, and the lakeside parks make for a full day of exploring. Most sights are within easy walking distance of each other.
