Archaeological and art museum covering the Rhineland from the Stone Age to the 20th century. The star exhibit is the skull fragment of Homo neanderthalensis, excavated in the Neandertal near Dusseldorf in 1856. Roman artefacts and medieval church art round out a collection that tells the long story of the Rhine valley.
