Hagen Hauptbahnhof is on the main line between Dortmund and Frankfurt, with frequent ICE and Regional services. Dortmund is 15 minutes away, Essen 30 minutes, Cologne about an hour, and Frankfurt around two and a half hours by ICE. Düsseldorf airport is the nearest international hub (about 50 minutes by train).
By car, Hagen sits at the junction of the A1, A45, and A46 motorways — easy to reach from anywhere in the Ruhr. The Hauptbahnhof building is a 1910 sandstone structure with a fine Art Nouveau interior, worth a quick look on arrival.
