Altes Brauhaus

A working brewpub on Braugasse, in the heart of the Altstadt, brewing its own helles and dunkel on the premises. The food is straightforward Rhineland-brewery fare — schnitzel, bratwurst with sauerkraut, pretzel-and-cheese plates — at fair prices.

The beer garden in the courtyard opens in spring and is full from 5 p.m. onwards in summer. A useful contrast to the Riesling-focused Weinstuben across the square.
