Museumshafen

Historic harbour in Lübeck where traditional vessels moor along the old waterfront

Museumshafen gives Lübeck's maritime past a living edge. Instead of a conventional indoor museum, it is a stretch of harbour where old working vessels, sailing boats, and restored craft sit against the brick-gabled cityscape.

It is a good place for a slow walk after the Holstentor and the old town churches. The boats change, and many are privately maintained, so treat it as atmosphere rather than a fixed exhibition: masts, ropes, tarred timber, and the reminder that Lübeck was a port before it was a postcard.
