The Pony Club opened on the Strönwai in Kampen in 1968 and has been the late-night destination of choice for the island's well-heeled crowd ever since. The format has barely changed: an unprepossessing wood-clad bar from outside, a packed and noisy interior, drinks at prices that are part of the experience. In high season the crowd outside the door includes a regular rotation of German actors, footballers, and minor royals.
Open from late afternoon until very late. The neighbouring Whisky Strasse runs east from here past several similar bars and clubs.
