The hills north-west of Jena were the scene of Napoleon's decisive victory over Prussia in October 1806. The battle is marked by Napoleon's Stone and several smaller memorial points in the surrounding landscape.
There is not a large visitor centre, so this is best for travellers with a specific interest in Napoleonic history or those already walking in the hills above Jena. Occasional reenactments and commemorations give the site more life than the markers alone.
