The Benaki Museum's second home, a converted industrial building on Pireos Street, is where the institution stages its most ambitious temporary exhibitions — contemporary art, photography, architecture, and design, rotated several times a year. The cool grey modernist interior, built around a sunken courtyard, is a deliberate contrast to the neoclassical main museum in Kolonaki.
There is a good shop and a courtyard café, and the building anchors the run of galleries and design studios that have colonised this western stretch of Pireos.
