Kanellopoulos Museum

The Kanellopoulos Museum is a small but rewarding museum on the north side of the Acropolis, close to Plaka. Its collection ranges from Mycenaean Greece onward, with ancient pottery, icons, metalwork, and a few strong surprises from beyond Greece.

It is not as famous as Athens' big-name museums, which is part of the pleasure. Come here when you want a quieter look at Greek art and daily objects without fighting the crowds around the Acropolis Museum.
