Ancient Olympia is in the western Peloponnese, about 300 km southwest of Athens. By car it takes around three to three-and-a-half hours via the E65 motorway through Corinth and Patras — the most comfortable option for arriving with luggage and then exploring the surrounding area at your own pace.
By public transport, take a train or bus to Pyrgos (the regional capital), then a local bus or taxi the final 25 km to the site. There are also direct long-distance buses from Athens (KTEL) that cover the journey in about five hours. The nearest airport with regular flights is in Patras, though most visitors fly into Athens.
