Getting Around

Rhodes has a decent public bus network run by KTEL. Regular services connect Rhodes City with Lindos, Faliraki, and the airport along the east coast. West coast routes are less frequent. Buses leave from the central station on Averof Street in Rhodes City. Schedules are seasonal, with far fewer departures outside summer.

Renting a car or scooter is the most practical way to explore beyond the main tourist corridor. Roads are generally good, though some stretches on the west coast and in the interior are narrow and winding. Parking in Rhodes Old Town is nearly impossible; use the lots outside the walls.

Taxis are widely available in Rhodes City and Lindos. Agree on a fare before getting in for longer trips, or insist on the meter. Water taxis run between some east coast beaches in summer.
