Skopelos has no airport. The island is reached by ferry only.
By ferry from Skiathos: Skiathos has an airport with direct flights from many European cities (British Airways, easyJet, Ryanair, and others). Ferries connect Skiathos to Skopelos Town and Glossa (Loutraki port) several times daily in summer; the crossing takes 30–60 minutes depending on the boat. This is the easiest approach for most visitors arriving from Western Europe.
By ferry from Volos or Thessaloniki: High-speed catamarans and conventional ferries run from Volos (on the mainland near Pelion) and sometimes from Thessaloniki. The Volos route takes 3–4 hours on the fast cat; conventional ferries are slower but more comfortable for sea-sensitive travelers.
By ferry from Alonnisos: Regular ferries connect Skopelos with the neighbouring island of Alonnisos.
Ferry schedules vary significantly between high season (July–August) and shoulder season (May–June, September). In winter service is limited. Check Hellenic Seaways and Aegean Flying Dolphins for current schedules.
