Inside the Nagyerdő, the Debrecen Zoo and Amusement Park share a single ticket and are easy to combine into a half-day with children. The zoo is small but well-laid-out — about 170 species across natural-feeling enclosures, with strong showings of big cats, primates, and waterfowl. The adjacent amusement park is old-school in the best sense: a wooden carousel, a ferris wheel, bumper cars, and a narrow-gauge railway that loops through the forest.
It is easily reached on tram line 1 — the same line that serves the spa.
