The old town of Pécs is compact and almost entirely walkable — the Cathedral Quarter, Széchenyi Square, the Ottoman mosques, and the main museums all lie within about 500 metres of each other. Most visitors spend their time in this area without needing any transport.
The Zsolnay Cultural Quarter is about 15 minutes on foot uphill from the centre, or a short ride on bus line 21 from the railway station. The Mecsek hills and the TV tower are further out: the chairlift (libegő) departs from the Mecsek road, accessible by bus from the city centre. Taxis are available throughout the city and reasonably priced.
