Nesbúð is the local supermarket and bakery combined, which makes it the closest thing Höfn has to a café. In the mornings there is freshly baked bread and a selection of Icelandic pastries — the skúffukaka (a dense, iced chocolate cake) and the kleina (a twisted doughnut) are worth knowing about. It is practical rather than atmospheric, but it is where the town actually starts its day, and a coffee and a pastry here before driving east to Stokksnes is a perfectly reasonable way to begin a morning in Höfn.
