Höfn has built its culinary identity entirely around one creature: the langoustine. These small, sweet North Atlantic lobsters are hauled from Hornafjörður and served in virtually every configuration the local kitchens can devise. Come to Höfn and eat langoustine — that is the point.
The town is small and the restaurant scene is accordingly modest, but the quality of the seafood is genuinely excellent. Book ahead in summer; the Ring Road tourist traffic fills places quickly.
