Humarhöfnin

Casual and slightly cheaper langoustine restaurant — a solid second option in Höfn

Humarhöfnin ("The Lobster Harbour") offers a more relaxed atmosphere than Pakkhús with largely the same raw material — the langoustine come from the same waters. The dining room is less formal and the prices are marginally lower, which makes it a good option when Pakkhús is fully booked or when you want something less event-like. The langoustine soup is an excellent starter: rich, sweet, and warming after a day on a glacier.

The menu is built around the langoustine in various forms — grilled tails, soup, pasta — with some lamb and fish options for those who are inexplicably not here for the lobster. Service can be slow in peak season when the Ring Road traffic pushes the kitchen hard; this is not the place to come if you are trying to make a tight connection.
