Na Seacht dTeampaill (the Seven Churches) is the largest early Christian monastic site on Inis Mór, tucked into a sheltered hollow in the northwest of the island near the village of Eochaill. The complex dates from the eighth to tenth centuries and includes two ruined church buildings, fragments of high crosses, grave slabs with early Irish inscriptions, and a holy well still visited by pilgrims.
The setting is quieter than Dún Aonghasa — fewer visitors make it this far — and the ruins sit among old stone walls and wildflowers in a way that feels genuinely undisturbed. The grave slabs with their scratched inscriptions are particularly evocative; some are in Ogham script, others in early Latin, and they are among the oldest surviving inscribed stones in Ireland. The site is freely accessible at all times.
