Bundoran is Ireland's surf capital, and the ocean defines everything about the place. Surfing, sea swimming, coastal walking, and watersports are the main activities — the Atlantic here is powerful and consistent, and the swell that arrives in autumn and winter draws surfers from across Europe.
Beyond the surf, the Roguey coastal walk is one of the better short walks on the northwest coast, taking in natural rock arches, blowholes, and sea views toward Ben Bulben and Sligo Bay. The family attraction of Waterworld provides a wet-weather fallback.
