St Patrick's Well

Sheltered holy well near Marlfield with spring water, a ruined church, and a cross in the pool

St Patrick's Well lies in a quiet valley near Marlfield, just outside Clonmel, and feels more carefully held than many Irish holy wells. Water rises strongly here, feeding a large pool around a stone cross and the remains of a small church, with trees and low walls giving the site a sheltered, reflective mood.

It is a good short excursion from town, especially if you like places where religious practice, local folklore, and landscape overlap. Go respectfully: it is a heritage site, but also a place where people still come for prayer, memory, and quiet.
