Eask Tower

Eask Tower is a 12-metre stone signal tower on Carhoo Hill above the entrance to Dingle harbour, built as a famine relief project in 1847 and topped with a wooden hand pointing seaward to guide ships into port. The hand is long gone but the tower itself stands undisturbed, and the climb up is the easiest panoramic view of Dingle Bay and the town.

The footpath starts near the marina, on a signposted track that climbs through gorse and bracken for about thirty minutes. The summit gives a 360° view: Dingle harbour and town to the north, the long ridge of the central peninsula behind, and the entrance to the bay below. The walk is straightforward but exposed; pack a jacket and decent shoes.
