Kehoe's on South Anne Street, just off Grafton Street, is one of the finest Victorian pub interiors in Dublin. The carved mahogany bar, the snugs, the stained glass, and the knick-knacks accumulated over a century and a half have never been "improved." This is what the phrase "traditional Irish pub" is supposed to mean.
The owner's family lived in the rooms above the bar, which explains why the upstairs has been converted into additional seating — you can drink in what was once the living quarters, surrounded by old photographs. It gets busy in the evenings but the crowd is a good mix of locals and visitors who know what they're looking at.
