Number 29 Fitzwilliam Street Lower is a restored Georgian townhouse run as a museum showing how a prosperous Dublin family would have lived around 1790. The house is furnished throughout with period pieces — from the basement kitchen to the nursery at the top — and the guided tours are informative about both the architecture and the social history of Georgian Dublin.
The museum is operated by the National Museum of Ireland and has recently been refurbished. It gives a more domestic and human perspective on Georgian Dublin than the grand public buildings provide.
