Things to Do

Dundalk is a practical stopping point on the Dublin–Belfast corridor with more character than that description suggests. St Patrick's Cathedral, the Proleek Dolmen, and the County Museum cover the town's history. The real draw is the surrounding landscape: the Cooley Peninsula to the east and Carlingford Lough to the north offer excellent hill walking, coastal scenery, and the village of Carlingford — one of the prettiest medieval settlements in northeast Ireland.
