Bunratty Castle, built in 1425 and restored in the 20th century, is one of Ireland's most complete medieval tower houses. Inside are period furnishings, tapestries, and art that make the rooms feel less bare than many restored castles.
The same ticket covers the Folk Park, an open-air museum of more than 30 buildings brought from around Ireland, with cottages, shops, a church, a walled garden, and demonstrations of 19th-century rural life. It is an easy day trip from Limerick.
